Carpool/Bus Notification

  • Install a Location ResQ Button inside the vehicle and fill in details on your ResQ Button App with Vehicle information
    • Configure ResQ Button based Safe Place and share it with all the passengers & drivers
    • As a transport company you will know which driver and when he/she enters/leaves the vehicle
  • As soon as the Carpool rider enters/exits the vehicle their chosen 3 contacts will get a notification
  • As a parent you don't have to worry, and you will know whether your child got on to the right Carpool / Bus immediately

Family

  • Know when your elderly parents leave and reach home
  • Known when your Child reaches / leaves School, Home, Music Class and others
  • Leaving Work or College late at night let someone know automatically when you reach home

Employee Check-in/checkout Notification

  • This functionality lets you know when an employee enters and exits a specific zone
  • Before using this make sure your local Labor Laws allow this type of employee tracking
  • All received notifications are saved on the receiver’s Phone.

    • Find the Group Number of the Location ResQ Button(s) you are planning to Geo-fence
    • Choose a ‘Location Name’ like Home, School, Library and Others
    • Add a message like ‘John at School’ so others can figure out it is you

What Is My Safe Place?

  • Geo-Fencing to notify your designated contacts when you ENTER or EXIT your configured Safe Place(s)
  • A simple use case like, getting automatic notifications when you’re Child Enters or Exits school, Home, School Bus and other places instead of waiting for their call or SMS.
  • Uses Wi-Fi and Apple iBeacon Technology, provides room level accuracy compared to street level provided by GPS, which makes it work both indoors & outdoors
  • You also have the option to notify your designated contacts selectively to be either the Entry or Exit
  • This is not a live tracking functionality, your location is notified to your designated contacts only when youEntry or Exit the configured Safe Place
  • If your phone doesn’t have a Data plan, the App saves the Entry & Exit information with location and timestamp on the phone and sends it out when network is available

How Do I Configure A Wi-fi Based Safe Place?

  • You should be in the vicinity of the specific Wi-Fi, for iPhone you need to be connected to that Wi-Fi
  • Click on the My Safe Place(s) icon and click on the + button and select the Wi-Fi
  • Choose a ‘Location Name’ like Home, School, Library and Others
  • Pick the Wi-Fi Name from the list
  • Add a message like ‘John at School’so others can figure out it is you
  • Fill in the address of the Location, use the Map pin to position if your address is does not show up on the search
  • Describe the Location like Apartment Number, Floor No
  • Fill in your three designated contacts, make sure all three address used are valid ResQ Button App users.
  • If you know someone who has already configured the location, you can ask them to share it with you from their device. Just change the LOCATION NAME, MESSAGE and DESIGNATED CONTACTS

How it Works

    Uses the existing Wi-Fi and Apple iBeacon Technology.

    Configure your Safe Place either Wi-Fi based or ResQ Button based

    • For the Wi-Fi based pick the SSID which has the largest coverage
    • For ResQ Button based add the Group Number it belongs to
    • Please configure the Location Name & Message as descriptively as you require

    As soon as the phone detects the specific Wi-Fi or Location ResQ Button for the first time
    an Entry Alert is sent out.
    2 Minutes after the Phone leaves the specific Wi-Fi or Location ResQ Button
    area an Exit Alert is sent out

    All the three designated contacts are notified that the Phone has entered/
    exited with the Location Name & Message as specified during the configuration
    So no more waiting for a SMS from your loved ones when they reached their Safe Place

    To Geo-Fence a large area like a Mall or Soccer Field, you will require multiple Location Buttons

    • Configure all Location Buttons for an area under the same Group Number.
    • Make ResQ Button My Safe Place users to configure their phones with the Group Number
    • Even additional Location
    • Make users configure ResQ Button Based Safe Place with that Group Number
    • As the user moves from one Location Button range to another one because of same group number only one Entry & Exit alert will be generated
    • When the phone is out of range of all the same Group Number an Exit alert is generated

    If there is no network connectivity to send an Entry & Exit notification

    • Phone will save the information locally and send it out when connected to network.
    • When the notifications are received it will tell the actual time the Entry & Exit occurred
    • If Wi-Fi is willfuly turned-off after entering a configured entry, an Exit alert is generated

Parthi Munusamy, for the last 20+ years has worked in different capacities at Mylex (now part of IBM), Andiamo Systems (Acquired by Cisco), Ocarina Networks (Acquired by Dell) building enterprise call highly available systems.

Parthi has a B.E degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Government College of Technology, Coimbatore, India and M.S degree in Electrical Engineering from California State University, Sacramento. Holds multiple patents in the Storage & Network area.
